Ingredients
- 8 oz wide rice noodles
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, mixed with 2 tbsp water)
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Push to the side of the skillet.
- Add shrimp to the skillet. Cook until pink and fully done, about 2 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Add the remaining oil. Stir in garlic and ginger, sautéing for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, and sesame oil. For a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
- Add cooked noodles, mixing until they are evenly coated in the sauce.
- Return shrimp to the pan. Stir everything together for 2–3 minutes until well combined and heated through.
- Top with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Substitute shrimp or beef with tofu or chicken for dietary needs; use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free version. Prepare noodles and chop ingredients ahead for faster assembly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently to avoid overcooking shrimp. If sauce is too thin, add more cornstarch slurry; if too thick, add a splash of water or broth.
