Spicy Chili Garlic Deviled Eggs are a flavorful twist on the classic appetizer, delivering a zesty kick from chili garlic sauce paired with creamy yolks and a touch of smoked paprika. Topped with crispy fried onions for extra crunch, these deviled eggs are perfect for gatherings, picnics, or as a party snack. They’re easy to make, crowd-pleasing, and can be prepared ahead.
Ingredients
- 12 large eggs
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
- Smoked paprika, for garnish
- Crispy fried onions, for topping
Instructions
- Place eggs in a large pot and cover with cold water.
- Bring the water to a boil, then simmer the eggs for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
- Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
- Scoop out the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Mash the yolks with mayonnaise and chili garlic sauce until smooth.
- Taste and adjust the spice level as desired.
- Spoon or pipe the mixture back into the egg whites.
- Sprinkle with smoked paprika.
- Top with crispy fried onions.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For substitutions, Greek yogurt can replace mayonnaise for a lighter option, and sriracha can be used instead of chili garlic sauce for a different flavor. Prepare deviled eggs a day ahead, store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, and top with onions just before serving. If yolk filling is too thin, add extra egg yolks or a bit more mayonnaise. Overcooking eggs can cause a green yolk; cool eggs immediately to avoid this.
