Ingredients
For the Feta Rolls:
- 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
For the Chili Honey:
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine feta cheese, cream cheese, oregano, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and lightly brush with olive oil or melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush it as well.
- Spoon 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture onto one end of the phyllo sheet. Roll tightly, tucking in the sides like a spring roll. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and filling.
- Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with olive oil or butter.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the rolls bake, prepare the chili honey. Combine honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat gently over low heat for 1-2 minutes, just until warmed.
- Drizzle the warm chili honey over the baked rolls before serving.
Notes
- Work quickly with the phyllo dough to prevent it from drying out. Keep unused sheets covered with a damp towel.
- Add chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the feta filling for variation.
- Chili honey spice level can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the chili flakes.
