For the Feta Rolls:

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

For the Chili Honey:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine feta cheese, cream cheese, oregano, and garlic powder until smooth.
  • Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and lightly brush with olive oil or melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush it as well.
  • Spoon 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture onto one end of the phyllo sheet. Roll tightly, tucking in the sides like a spring roll. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and filling.
  • Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with olive oil or butter.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • While the rolls bake, prepare the chili honey. Combine honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat gently over low heat for 1-2 minutes, just until warmed.
  • Drizzle the warm chili honey over the baked rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Work quickly with the phyllo dough to prevent it from drying out. Keep unused sheets covered with a damp towel.
  • Add chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the feta filling for variation.
  • Chili honey spice level can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the chili flakes.
