Description

Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls combine tender, fluffy cinnamon rolls with crispy, caramelized maple-glazed bacon. Thick-cut bacon is baked, coated in a brown sugar maple glaze, and added to rolls that are rerolled, baked, and finished with a maple-infused frosting. Every bite offers a delightful contrast of sweet and salty, making these rolls an irresistible breakfast or brunch treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can canned cinnamon rolls (such as Pillsbury, includes packaged frosting)
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (real preferred)
  • Packaged frosting (included with rolls)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the bacon slices evenly.
  2. Bake bacon for 15 minutes. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and maple syrup.
  3. Brush the brown sugar and maple syrup mixture over the partially cooked bacon.
  4. Return bacon to the oven and bake another 15 minutes or until crispy. Let cool and chop into pieces.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Unroll the canned cinnamon rolls carefully.
  6. Sprinkle chopped bacon over the unrolled dough and reroll tightly.
  7. Arrange cinnamon rolls in a greased round pan. Bake as per package directions, typically about 20 minutes.
  8. Combine packaged frosting with a little maple syrup to make a glaze.
  9. Frost hot rolls with the maple glaze and sprinkle remaining chopped bacon on top.

Notes

Substitute turkey bacon for a lighter option or use pre-cooked bacon for convenience. To make ahead, prep bacon and roll assembly the night before; bake fresh in the morning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat briefly in the microwave. If rolls are overly doughy, bake a few more minutes. If frosting is too runny, add more packaged icing.
