Description

Loaded Cheese Fries with Beef is a hearty dish combining crispy fries, savory seasoned ground beef, and melty cheddar cheese. Fresh toppings like sour cream, red onion, tomatoes, and herbs add brightness and freshness to this irresistible platter. Perfect for gatherings, game nights, or a family treat, the layers of flavor and texture make this recipe a standout comfort food classic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen French fries or 4 large fresh potatoes, cut into fries
  • 1 pound ground beef (80-85% lean)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Spread fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, flipping halfway, about 20 minutes.
  2. While fries bake, brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper during cooking. Drain excess fat.
  3. Transfer hot fries to an oven-safe serving dish.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the fries.
  5. Spread the cooked ground beef over the cheese-covered fries.
  6. Return the dish to the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles and melts.
  7. Remove from oven. Add dollops of sour cream, then scatter diced red onion, chopped tomatoes, and chopped parsley or green onions over the top.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef. Use vegan cheese and plant-based meat for a vegetarian version. Make fries ahead and reheat before assembling. Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but toppings should be added fresh. If fries become soggy, briefly reheat in an oven to restore crispiness. Customize toppings per preference.
