Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 6 slices cooked bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 6 soft taco shells
- 1/4 cup burger sauce or mayonnaise
Instructions
- Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking into crumbles, for 8 minutes or until no pink remains. Drain the fat.
- Cook bacon until crisp; crumble once cooled.
- Shred cheddar cheese, wash and dry lettuce, and dice pickles.
- Heat soft taco shells in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side until warm and pliable.
- Layer taco shells with cooked beef, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and pickles.
- Drizzle each taco with burger sauce or mayonnaise before serving hot.
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or plant-based meat for beef; use turkey or vegetarian bacon. Prep ingredients ahead and store each component separately in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days; assemble tacos just before eating to prevent sogginess. If shells break, warm them slightly longer. Avoid overfilling to keep tacos easy to hold and eat.
