Description
This delightful dish combines the bold flavors of jerk-seasoned steak and shrimp with the comforting base of yellow rice for a perfect fusion of spice and savory goodness.
Ingredients
Main
- 1 lb Angus Steak or Boneless Beef Tri-tip (cut into cubes)
- 1 lb Large Shrimp (peeled & deveined)
Vegetables
- 1 cup Red & Green Bell Peppers (sliced)
Liquids
- 1 cup Chicken Broth or Water
Seasonings
- 2 tsp Jerk Seasoning
- 1 tsp Creole Seasoning
- 1 tsp Salt & Cracked Black Pepper
- 1/8 tsp Honey
Others
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Yellow Rice to serve
Instructions
1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook undisturbed for 3 minutes.
2. Flip and cook until browned on all sides, about 7-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
3. Season shrimp with Jerk and Creole Seasonings. Blend well until color begins to turn red.
4. Add butter to the pan, then add shrimp. Cook for 1 minute on each side.
5. Add honey and cook for an additional minute. Remove.
6. In the same pan, add bell peppers and cook for 3 minutes or until softened, stirring frequently.
7. Add steak and shrimp back to the pan and toss to blend.
8. Add broth/water and all remaining seasonings.
9. Lower heat to medium-low and let simmer to enhance the flavor.
10. Serve over yellow rice. Sprinkle with green onions, black pepper, and/or cilantro.
Notes
Feel free to add more honey for a slight sweetness that balances the spice. This dish pairs excellently with a chilled glass of coconut water.
