Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly undercooked.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Feel free to swap semi-sweet chocolate chips with white chocolate, dark chocolate, or even peanut butter chips for a fun twist.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
