Ingredients

- 13 ounces vanilla cake mix, divided (French Vanilla)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark brown)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 8 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- Optional: vanilla ice cream
- Optional: whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss frozen mixed berries with 1/2 cup cake mix, brown sugar, and cornstarch.
- Spread the berry mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining cake mix, milk, and melted butter to form a batter.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter over the berry mixture and spread gently with an offset spatula.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until the filling is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with optional vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
