Main Ingredients
- 1 package Oreo cookies ((14.3 ounces))
- 1 package cream cheese, softened ((8 ounces))
- 1 package candy melts or white chocolate chips ((12 ounces))
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a large resealable plastic bag and crush them using a rolling pin or the bottom of a glass.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and the mixture holds together.
- Shape into Balls: Using your hands, roll the Oreo mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If the mixture is too sticky, you can chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Chill: Place the baking sheet with the Oreo balls in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
- Melt the Candy Melts: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts or white chocolate chips according to the package instructions. If desired, you can add a few drops of food coloring to the melted chocolate to create different colors for decorating.
- Dip the Balls: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off, then place the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Decorate: While the chocolate coating is still wet, decorate the Oreo balls with sprinkles, creating Easter egg designs or patterns. You can also drizzle additional melted chocolate over the tops for added decoration.
- Chill Again: Once decorated, return the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill the Oreo balls until the chocolate coating is set, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Notes
Consider using a variety of food coloring and sprinkles to enhance the Easter theme. Allow the Oreo mixture to chill if it’s too sticky to handle easily.
