  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (pastel pink, purple, yellow, and blue)
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Divide the dough into four equal portions. Tint each portion with a different pastel gel food coloring, mixing gently until evenly colored.
  6. Take small portions of each colored dough and press them together to form a marbled ball. Place on the baking sheet and gently flatten each ball. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding pastel-colored candy sprinkles on top before baking.
