Description

Dill Pickle Chex Mix is a zesty, flavor-packed snack blend that combines crunchy Rice Chex and Corn Chex cereals, savory pretzels, and roasted cashews, all tossed in a tangy dill pickle seasoning with notes of garlic and onion. Baked to crisp perfection in just 30 minutes, this irresistible snack is perfect for parties, gatherings, or anytime snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 4 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups pretzels (mini twists or sticks)
  • 1 cup cashews (or any other nut of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the Corn Chex, Rice Chex, pretzels, and cashews.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, dill pickle juice, salt, pepper, and dill pickle seasoning until well combined.
  4. Pour the seasoning mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring gently to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through to promote even cooking.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheets.
  8. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

For nut substitutions, use almonds, peanuts, or leave them out for nut-free. Pretzels can be swapped with bagel chips or pita chips for variety. Make ahead by baking and storing in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. If the mix becomes soggy, re-bake for 5-10 minutes. Avoid overbaking as cereals can harden; stir halfway for even crispness.
