Apple Fries

  • 2 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large egg (beaten)
  • 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (powdered)
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg (optional)

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (powdered)

Optional Dip

  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce (or vanilla yogurt)

Instructions

  1.  Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin wedges.
  2.  In one bowl, place the flour.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
  4.  In a third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5.  Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat in the panko mixture.
  6.  Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the breaded apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  7. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  8. While still warm, toss the apple fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Notes

Serve with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for extra flavor.
