Apple Fries
- 2 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large egg (beaten)
- 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (powdered)
- 0.25 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (powdered)
Optional Dip
- 0.5 cup caramel sauce (or vanilla yogurt)
Instructions
- Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin wedges.
- In one bowl, place the flour.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat in the panko mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the breaded apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- While still warm, toss the apple fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Notes
Serve with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for extra flavor.
