Description

Chicken Alfredo Air Fryer Calzones are golden, crispy hand-held pockets filled with a rich blend of shredded chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic. Pizza dough is folded around the savory filling, brushed with olive oil and egg wash, then air fried to perfection for a quick, satisfying meal. Great for family dinners or easy lunches, these calzones provide a convenient, mess-free way to enjoy a classic Alfredo flavor in portable form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • ½ cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • All-purpose flour for dusting
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg for wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle and cut into 4 equal squares.
  4. Spoon about ⅓ cup of the filling into the center of each dough square.
  5. Fold each dough square over the filling to form a triangle or rectangle. Seal edges by pressing with a fork.
  6. Brush each calzone with olive oil and then with beaten egg.
  7. Place calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let calzones cool for 1 minute before serving.

Notes

You can substitute rotisserie chicken or cooked turkey for the chicken; use gluten-free dough for a GF version. Store leftover calzones in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer for best texture. If dough tears, pinch gently to seal, and don’t overfill. If the calzones brown too quickly, lower air fryer temp slightly. For extra flavor, add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the filling. Make ahead: Assemble calzones and refrigerate unbaked for up to 24 hours.
