Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup cornstarch (for dredging)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Toss shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, then dredge in cornstarch. Shake off excess.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until crispy. Set aside on paper towels.
  • Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  • In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and 2 minced garlic cloves to make the Bang Bang sauce. Adjust heat and sweetness to taste.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the remaining garlic in olive oil until fragrant. Add pasta and toss to coat in garlic oil.
  • Pour Bang Bang sauce over the pasta and toss until evenly coated. Use reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
  • Add shrimp to the pasta and toss gently to combine.
  • Garnish with Parmesan cheese, green onions, and red pepper flakes. Serve hot with lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra veggies, add sautéed bell peppers, zucchini, or spinach to the dish.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute shrimp with crispy tofu.
  • Use gluten-free pasta and cornstarch to make the recipe gluten-free.
  • Sprinkle lemon zest on top for a fresh, zesty finish.
