Description

These Orange Halloween Pumpkin Cookies are a festive no-bake treat perfect for fall gatherings and Halloween parties. With classic Oreo cookies coated in creamy orange-tinted white chocolate, each cookie is decorated to resemble a cute pumpkin using pretzel sticks and candy pieces. The recipe is quick, kid-friendly, and delivers colorful, delightful cookies that stand out at any event.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 30 to 40 Oreo sandwich cookies
  • 1 3/4 cups white baking chocolate or chips
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons orange gel food coloring
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil, plus more if needed
  • 1/4 cup green candy-coated chocolate pieces (such as M&Ms)
  • 1/4 cup broken pretzel sticks

Instructions

  1. Carefully cut green candy pieces in half for leaves and break pretzel sticks into small pieces for pumpkin stems.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons orange gel food coloring for a vibrant orange shade.
  4. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Dip each Oreo cookie into the melted orange chocolate mix, letting the excess drip off, then place on the lined sheet.
  6. While the chocolate is still soft, insert a pretzel piece as the pumpkin stem and position halved green candy pieces as leaves.
  7. Use a toothpick to gently create vertical lines to mimic pumpkin ridges.
  8. Chill cookies in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate sets.

Notes

For substitutions, dark or milk chocolate chips can replace white chocolate; butter can substitute coconut oil, but flavor may differ. Non-dairy sandwich cookies work for vegan adaptation. Make ahead by preparing and storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Avoid overheating the chocolate to prevent seizing—stir well between microwave intervals. If the coating is too thick, add a small amount of extra coconut oil until desired consistency is reached. Broken cookies can be patched together with extra melted chocolate.
