Description

Pumpkin Spice Syrup is a flavorful, quick-to-make syrup perfect for adding autumnal warmth to cocktails, lattes, or desserts. This easy recipe blends canned pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, sugar, and water, simmered to create a rich, spiced syrup. Strained for smoothness, it delivers pure pumpkin flavor, lasting up to three weeks refrigerated for seasonal drinks anytime.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice blend

Instructions

  1. Combine pumpkin puree, water, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan.
  2. Stir to incorporate all ingredients.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Once boiling and smooth, remove from heat.
  5. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes for flavors to meld.
  6. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into an airtight container.
  7. Discard solids.
  8. Cool completely before using.
  9. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.

Notes

You can substitute brown sugar for white sugar for a richer flavor, or use maple syrup instead for a unique twist. If pumpkin pie spice is unavailable, use a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Syrup can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks; shake before using as settling may occur. If syrup is too thick, add a splash of water and stir; if too thin, simmer a bit longer. Always strain thoroughly for a smooth texture.
